Toddler Activity Learning Foods in Chinese

Fun Activity for Toddlers Learning Foods

For Christmas my parents bought my 16 month old daughter some play foods.  It was a great gift for her to learn her foods and for us a chance to talk to her in Chinese on different subjects.  The play foods could be cut in half so she can put in a pot and play cook her foods.  There’s a big selection of play foods in the package which offers a great variety of different dishes she could make.  This play food selection also comes with a play knife and cutting board that teaches her how to hold a knife, food or spoon.  Her grasp holding a spoon has greatly improved since she’s been playing with this set.  The play foods are also cut in half and velcro’ed together so makes it easier to cut in half with her play knife.  This is a great fun activity for toddlers learning foods and a great gift for toddlers.

We spent some time playing with this playset.  My mom spent time teaching her how to hold a knife and how to cut the foods.  It is her first time holding a knife so it took some time to understand how to play with it.  There was a learning curve to learn how to play with it but she got the hang of it.  Pretty soon she was able to apply the pressure at the right places to cut the velcro in the foods to cut them in half.  It was a good opportunity to chat with her in Chinese about different foods and she can apply them to real life scenarios.  As I said above her ability to hold forks and spoons while eating meals has improved greatly.  This set is great to improve eye hand coordination and knowledge of different foods.    I love the play set and so does she.
